Players and venue management have extended reciprocal return engagement requests, so our premiere Alameda tournament will be the first of regularly scheduled tournaments. Happy news indeed! Beginning next year, The Whole Shabang will host first-Sunday-of-the-month tournaments. Vacations, wintertime holidays and the early December (Dec. 6th) tourney in San Mateo allow us to squeeze a November 1st date into 1998's calendar. Start time is 12:00 noon (not 1pm as previously incorrectly advertised). The Whole Shabang is located at Webster and Central, the entry fee is $25 and it's a single-elimination format. Please bring a board, an appetite (they've got food) and a refined ear for music (Nick Ballard might grace us with another piano serenade, please, Nick?).
