The new San Francisco venue gets high praise from those who were there. The playing room in the Marines' Memorial Club (is ours the only backgammon tourney site with a fireplace, I wonder?) has a wonderful view of San Francisco, and was pronounced variously "elegant!" "classy!" "convenient!"
We continue to evaluate the feasibility of making this site a permanent venue. In order to commit to booking the room for the year 2000, we must know if it works for the players. We will know that it works for the players if attendance picks up. Backgammon in San Francisco will continue only if it receives your support. Please show your support for backgammon tournaments in San Francisco.
